I Bring You Good Tidings Of Great Joy. Luke 2:9-11

Dec 16, 2013 | Musings, Tallulah Blooms

I am still able to transport myself to the little floppy haired girl, in a pink felt hat adorned with a feather, anxiously sitting at the top of the stairs, awaiting the moment permission was granted to descend. The days leading up to that moment were filled with cookie baking, glistening tinsel, colored  lights, Holiday music and letters to Santa.  That magic was reignited at the birth of my first child, Tatum Marie.  I will never forget her first Christmas and how elated I was that snow flakes were lazily falling from the sky.  I was sure, this was a special gift given just for me! As an Interior Designer, there is nothing that can quite compare to the installation of Christmas in to my home!  There is no question, I am an extremist when it comes to my Christmas decor. It makes me so happy to be surrounded by so many memories and I know it makes my family feel the same way.  I take my role in Christmas seriously. As their mother,  I know my children will look back on all the good tidings we have shared and pass some of my traditions on to the special people in their lives.  They might lovingly hold an ornament in their hands, reminiscing about the year it was hung on the tree. Maybe they will dance with a baby in their arms to Oh Holy Night,  or with a group of toddlers to Meet me in St. Louis.  I hope I will snuggle with them while we watch A Christmas Carol for the rest of my life. Every family has their own way of decorating and their own way of celebrating.  Whether its a single strand of colored bulbs over the front door and a Charlie Brown Christmas tree, or the way I enhance our holiday or anything in between, it really doesn’t matter much.  It is the way we all come together and appreciate the love and laughter we share.  Here is to many more memories to make!  Merry Christmas!
