Gertrude Stein, the Montmarte, Henri Toulouse-Lautrec, Hemingway, F.Scott Fitzgerald…… PARIS! I love to imagine myself  at the Moulin Rouge,  Jane Averil floating across the stage, sipping fine French wine and later, when the night sky is dappled with stars and the moon is full,  collaborating in Gertrude Stein’s parlor with artists, writers, dancers and designers, all on this planet to create thought provoking beauty.  There is a reason that creative thinkers and dreamers flock to Paris.  Even the most prosaic of things, like the metro signs are artwork in the city of lights. There is inspiration everywhere competing for  attention, being stored in the minds eye because no photo can replicate the way it feels to stand amongst the glory of Paris. The creation of Tallulah and Bird, Interior Design gave me the reason to make Paris at least a yearly trip.  Lingering over Croque Madames (sans jambon of course) at the amazing Buvette cafe, sipping cafe au lait is a must.  The Royal Palais hotel has to be in one of the best locations, right behind the Louvre with the Royal Palais garden in between!  Je Suis Charlie on the Hotel de Ville, (city hall) a sad reminder of the price of freedom of speech and press.
We have just returned, regenerated and full of inspiration.  The Paris trade show is brimming with wonderful products and gorgeous displays.  Our next container will be brimming with Paris!
