I Feel It In My Fingers, I Feel It In My Toes; Drew & Eric Phildaelphia Wedding Design

Jul 8, 2015 | Weddings

Rare and enduring.   All accepting and genuine regard. Mutual respect. A zest for life and adventure. Laudable work ethic and intelligence. Laughter. Tears. More laughter.  The components of an epic love story.  Drew and Eric.

Also, the components of an epic friendship. One that we will cherish and nurture while we grow old together.

Fortuitous timing on the momentous weekend when the supreme court announced the ruling in favor of marriage equality.  For me, it was a little ridiculous that we needed to wait for the supreme court to ordain something that has always seemed so natural and obvious; love who you love.   I am relieved for my many friends, some who have suffered greatly by the ignorance of others.

The wedding itself was pure joy.  The nuptials  personal and heartfelt.  The ceremony lead by a beloved friend. The guests laughing, crying and toasting. The vows will stay with me forever. Beautiful, meaningful and true. This relationship is one for the ages.  And though they have been together for over 20 years, they deserve this day, they deserve to stand before their favorite people and make it supreme court official.

The reception took place in the motor court. A total transformation at lightning speed to create the venue to embrace the grooms and their guests.  We covered the asphalt with giant plank reclaimed pine floors. The garage was unrecognizable; now a grotto with a custom bar and lounge. Trees, shrubs, plants, and truck loads of flowers. Twinkle lights and a custom chandelier. The rain was ethereal and cool, and added to the dreamy ambiance.  Drew’s favorite candy.  The finest food by the world class Vetri group.  Wood fired pizza; just in case anyone was still hungry at the end of the night.  Ice cream sandwiches and perfect cakes! And the dancing! I rarely sat down, nor did anyone else. The “love was in the air”, and there was not a single person who did not feel it.

Congratulations to two of my favorite people on the planet.  I loved creating the magic with you and I will treasure these memories and the “Love, Actually”.
