The vintage fineries in this basket will find their way into my creations and my designs. This is just a small sample of what I have gathered together. The beaded flower bunches have a beautiful history. and their origin dates as far back as the 1600’s. These are from France and date to the 1800’s. French and Italian women would string the glass beads on to wire and create the tiny masterpieces. They were used to adorn gravestones of loved ones. Every one is unique, no two alike. I wish each one was accompanied with a narrative depicting the tapestry of lives each bouquet was meant to commemorate. It is so fascinating to me that they have survived hundreds of years and find themselves in flea markets all of the world. They make me smile.
