The owner of this Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, stone beauty engaged Tallulah & Bird to create a kitchen and dining room that would feel like a bright retreat from the rest of the world. Their busy lives had meant that they lived with a very dark and heavy space that functioned very poorly for much longer than planned. The home is set on a beautiful property, but the windows in the kitchen were small and so high, that there was no view at all of the gorgeous gardens and trees. Strong pattern on the flooring created a perfect juxtaposition to the warm wood ceilings that we exposed. The entry to the dining room was altered for better function and the dining room is visually connected to what was created in the kitchen.
